Mumbai, India July 18th, 2025: Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Pharmacy (VESCOP) and ENTOD Pharmaceuticals, a globally recognized leader in ophthalmic and specialty healthcare, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Mumbai. This significant collaboration is set to enhance the connection between academic research and practical pharmaceutical industry applications.
The partnership will focus on joint initiatives across pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic research and development, while also fostering student-driven innovations. This long-term alliance between academia and industry is designed to empower future pharmacy professionals and fortify India’s pharmaceutical innovation landscape.
Dr. Supriya Shidaye, Principal of VESCOP, welcomed the initiative: “This collaboration will ensure sharing of facilities, expertise, knowhow, publications and patents, thus ensuring contribution complimentary to each other leading to research with translational dimension. ENTOD’s guidance will help us stay at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation.”
Highlighting the need for such collaborations, ENTOD CEO Nikkhil K Masurkar said, “As India continues to position itself as a global healthcare leader, it is imperative to empower and encourage innovation from the youth, the driving force of a young and evolving nation. This partnership allows us to co-develop cutting-edge research and invest in nurturing bright young minds.”
He added, “Together, we aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world pharmaceutical challenges.”
India has nearly 4,900 pharmacy colleges, yet student research often lacks industry visibility and real-world implementation. ENTOD’s partnership with VESCOP aims to address this gap, creating a structured platform for student projects and innovations to contribute meaningfully to the sector.
