LPU inaugurates Real-World Tech Workplaces at Campus with Capgemini Code Experience Lab

New Delhi, July 18th, 2025: Work doesn’t start on your first day at the office anymore, it starts right where you learn. Lovely Professional University (LPU) is proving that with its new Capgemini Code Experience Lab—a space that feels less like a classroom and more like stepping straight into a buzzing tech hub.

This lab isn’t just about computers and code, it’s designed as a real workplace model, complete with collaboration hubs, discussion zones, coding bays, and digital displays. Students can work together, build real projects, and pick up the kind of skills they’d use at top tech companies right from campus.

The grand launch of the Capgemini Code Experience Lab was graced by esteemed dignitaries from Lovely Professional University (LPU), including Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor; and Dr. Loviraj Gupta, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Harpal Thethi, Prof. and Executive Dean of Division of Career Services. The event also saw the presence of Capgemini leadership and senior colleagues including Sanjay Chalke, Chief Operating Officer, Capgemini in India; Neeti Churamani, Vice President, Cloud and Custom Apps, India; Puneet Kumra, Vice President and Head of Early Careers Program – India; Suman Bhattacharya, Director, University Relations and Hiring – India; and Akanksha Suman, Manager, Capgemini in India. This marked a truly collaborative beginning between academia and industry.

Launching the lab, Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, put it simply, “We want our students to be work-ready before they leave campus. That’s why our education model allows them to earn up to 50% of their marks through real work experience. Partnering with a global leader like Capgemini helps us bring the real world into the classroom and prepare our students to step out as professionals, not just graduates.”

What this means is students won’t just listen to lectures. They’ll get real world experience with live projects, coding challenges, hackathons, and team assignments all using the tools and workflows that global tech leaders rely on every day.

The lab supports over 200 students at a time, so the scale matches the ambition. Think smart TVs, interactive boards, video conferencing rooms, and bright, collaborative spaces. It’s part of LPU’s EduRevolution initiative to break down the walls between academia and industry and it’s designed to move as fast as the tech world itself.

With AI transforming every field, the lab introduces students to practical applications of AI tools and workflows. They’ll learn to integrate AI solutions into projects, preparing them to work alongside and build the technologies reshaping tomorrow’s workplaces.

Capgemini has long been one of LPU’s most trusted recruitment partners, hiring across domains year after year. But with this lab, the relationship goes deeper, it lets students experience how top-tier tech teams operate, months or even years before they face placement interviews.

By building spaces like this, LPU isn’t just keeping up with change it’s helping shape what the future of learning and work looks like.
