Shangri-La Eros New Delhi Presents Tastes and Tales from Taiwan

New Delhi, 02nd July 2025: There’s something about food that goes beyond flavour — it can spur memories, spark curiosity, and offer a glimpse into a culture’s roots. Complementing this belief, Shang Palace, the signature award-winning restaurant at Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, in collaboration with the Taiwan Mission in India, invites guests on an extraordinary culinary journey this July, from 4th to 6th July 2025, bringing the beloved flavours of Taiwan to the capital.

Over three days, the esteemed Shang Palace will host a rare showcase of Taiwanese cuisine, crafted with passion and precision by two of Taiwan’s most celebrated chefs. Renowned for its expertise in Cantonese, Sichuan, and Yunnan fare, the restaurant has long been a destination for those seeking one-of-a-kind culinary experiences. Now, it becomes the backdrop for an enticing exploration of Taiwan’s rich gastronomic heritage, where each dish defines the island’s deep-rooted history and diverse regional influences. This exclusive event invites guests to appreciate Taiwan’s culinary treasures amid the sophisticated elegance of Shang Palace.

Leading the experience are Chef Li Chia Chi and Chef Liao Tai-Chun, both true masters of Taiwanese cooking. With his impressive international accolades and role as a global culinary judge, Chef Li brings years of expertise and a deep passion for Taiwanese cuisine. Together with Chef Liao, they will offer an exquisite selection of dishes that praise the authenticity and spirit of Taiwanese flavours, taking diners on a journey through the heart of Taiwan’s most treasured culinary traditions.

Guests will have the pleasure of choosing between two special set menus, each offering a unique exploration of Taiwan’s culinary marvels. For those drawn to the rich, savoury offerings of Taiwanese cuisine, the non-vegetarian menu presents dishes such as the signature Smoked

Salt-Brine Duck Breast, Pork Belly with Garlic Soy Dressing, Twin-Flavoured Spiny Lobster, and the iconic Taiwanese Three-Cup Chicken, a true representation of Taiwanese home cooking. The Taiwanese Steamed Glutinous Rice with Red Crab adds a coastal hint to the experience.

The vegetarian menu offers Three-Cup King Oyster Mushroom with Tofu, which serves the earthy richness of mushrooms with the fine flavour of tofu, while the Double-Boiled Mushroom Soup with Mock Meat provides a comforting, delectable delight that showcases Taiwan’s vegetarian creativity. Whether indulging in vegetarian or non-vegetarian options, every bite serves the experience of bustling night markets or serene mountain villages.

“We are thrilled to present this exclusive event, bringing the exceptional flavors of Taiwan to New Delhi. This collaboration is a perfect example of how we blend luxury with cultural experiences to create unforgettable memories. Taiwan’s culinary diversity and creativity have long captivated food lovers, and we are proud to offer a taste of this exquisite heritage at Shang Palace,” said Abhishek Sadhoo, General Manager of Shangri-La Eros New Delhi.

“We are honored to present the 2025 Taiwan Food Festival in New Delhi, where it’s our desire to share Taiwan’s vibrant food culture and to highlight the importance of people-to-people ties between Taiwan and India. With support from our partners, sponsors, and two outstanding chefs from Taiwan, this event will offer Indian guests a rare taste of authentic Taiwanese cuisine. I also want to emphasize growing exchanges — in tourism, education, and investment — as seen in the rise of Indian visitors, upcoming direct flights, and the presence of over 300 Taiwanese companies in India. Through food and friendship, we continue to build meaningful connections,” said H.E. Ambassador Baushuan Ger.

This distinguished affair welcomes food lovers, connoisseurs, and those seeking an incredible experience to relish Taiwan’s culinary artistry like never before.
