CM Revanth Reddy Applauds Telugu NRIs for Uplifting Heritage and Economy

Hyderabad, May 28, 2024: In a celebration held in Edison, New Jersey, Business Excellence Awards were presented to distinguished NRI entrepreneurs from the Telugu community in the USA. The event was graced by prominent personalities and supported by all major Telugu associations across America, including TANA, ATA, NATS, TTA, MATA, GTA, NRIVA, TDF, IT Serve Alliance, TFAS, TLCA, NYTTA, and NJ Telugu.

Chief Guests Mr. Dilip Chouhan, former Controller, Nassau County, NY, and Mr. Ankur Sharma, Chairman, FIA (Federation of Indian Associations) – New York, the Largest Non-Profit Umbrella Organization in the Tri-state of NY-NJ-CT, presented the awards and applauded the Telugu community’s role in promoting business excellence while preserving their rich cultural heritage.

In their congratulatory messages, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Sri A. Revanth Reddyand Consul General of India, Shri Binaya Srikanta Pradhaan, praised the awardees. CM Revanth Reddy emphasised:

Guest Speakers Mr. Brian C. Wahler, Mayor of Piscataway, and Mr. Sam Joshi, Mayor of Edison, also commended the contributions of Telugu Americans. Mayor Joshi noted the vital role Indian Americans play in their adopted communities.

Telugu Americans have made significant contributions to the U.S. economy — founding startups, co-founding unicorns, playing key roles in tech and academia, and owning a substantial share of hospitality businesses. Their entrepreneurial impact is both deep and diverse, said Mr. Ankur Sharma

Mr. C.V. Subba Row, veteran media personality and founder of Telugu Times — the first global Telugu newspaper established in 2003 in San Francisco — initiated the awards to promote the overseas entrepreneurial spirit and Telugu pride worldwide. Telugu-speaking population jumps 4-fold in US, touches 13 lakh in the year 2025.  Telugu is America’s 11th most spoken language.   Telugus made their mark in America not just in IT, Medical, but in every aspect of entrepreneurship, said Mr. CV Subba Row.
