National, June 26, 2025: After two celebrated international editions in Dubai, and 8 national editions across India, We The Women, India’s most iconic women-led festival, brings its inaugural UK Edition to Riverside Studios in London on 29th June, to be exclusively aired on Mojo Story’s YouTube channel on June 30. Curated by award-winning journalist and author Barkha Dutt, the festival has, for the past several years, spotlighted stories of courage, impact, and transformation across fields and frontiers.
Presented in partnership with Vedanta, the day-long festival celebrates Changemakers of 2025, both from India and within the British-Indian Diaspora.
From celebrated figures in cinema to decorated officers of the Indian Armed Forces, from pioneering scientists to fearless barristers, We The Women honours voices that shape our times. It is also a platform that celebrates inclusivity, highlighting not only women but also the men and allies who challenge traditional gender roles and expand the boundaries of identity, masculinity, and femininity.
This year’s London edition will take place at the iconic Anil Agarwal Riverside Studios and features an extraordinary lineup of speakers from female officers involved in the recent Operation Sindoor, to actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani, a former Union Minister and one of India’s most influential women in public life; from acclaimed filmmaker Karan Johar, the creative force behind some of India’s biggest cinematic hits and a trailblazer in mainstream storytelling, to megastar Kareena Kapoor Khan, an icon of Indian cinema known for redefining female stardom; beloved actor Rashmika Mandanna, one of India’s fastest rising stars with pan-India appeal and Shashi Tharoor, the magnetic Indian politician, author and member of Lok Sabha.
Cultural icons like Sudha Murty, acclaimed author, philanthropist, and the first woman engineer at TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company; Meera Syal, celebrated British-Indian writer, comedian, and BAFTA-winning actor; and Anoushka Shankar, Grammy-nominated sitar virtuoso and composer, Sindhu Vee the charismatic Indian-born British comedian and actress, will also bring their unique voices to the stage, bridging heritage, creativity, and empowerment.
In addition to powerful conversations and performances, the festival will honour the changemakers of 2025, including visionaries from across the British-Indian diaspora and beyond who are boldly rewriting the rules and reshaping the future.
