IndiGo, India’s preferred carrier, has announced adjustments and schedule revisions in its long-haul network to ensure seamless and reliable operations for its customers.
Recently, IndiGo’s widebody operations have faced external constraints, including continuously changing airspace regulations due to geopolitical circumstances and congestion at airports in India and abroad. These factors significantly increased flight and block times, putting pressure on the airline’s Boeing 787-9 schedule, which is operated with six widebody aircraft. To minimize inconvenience caused by misconnections and cascading delays, IndiGo has taken immediate measures to restore operational reliability and improve on-time performance.
Network Adjustments
Effective 17 February 2026, IndiGo will suspend operations to and from Copenhagen until further notice.
The Delhi–Manchester route will see reduced frequency, from five weekly flights to four starting 07 February 2026, and further reduced to three weekly flights from 19 February 2026. This reduces total weekly connectivity between Delhi and Manchester from nine to seven flights. Post-adjustment, Delhi to Manchester flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays, with return flights from Manchester on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mumbai–Manchester flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with return flights from Manchester on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Delhi–London Heathrow services will also be adjusted, reducing frequency from five weekly flights to four, effective 09 February 2026. Flights from Delhi to London will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with return flights from London on the same days.
Customer Support
IndiGo is proactively reaching out to affected passengers to provide alternative flights or offer timely refunds and compensation in accordance with applicable regulations.
Ongoing International Expansion
As part of its internationalization journey, IndiGo launched a widebody project in March 2025 by damp leasing six Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Norse Atlantic Airways. This initiative serves as an interim solution for global expansion and is a precursor to the airline’s own A350-900 widebody inductions planned for early 2028. These steps are intended to gradually enhance IndiGo’s internal capabilities for future large-scale international expansion.
IndiGo regrets that current operational challenges have affected its 787-9 network reliability. The airline remains committed to monitoring external developments and flexibly scaling its network to align with evolving conditions, ensuring dependable long-haul services for its customers.
