Kolkata, 16 October 2025: Ola Electric, India’s largest EV company, today launched Ola SHAKTI, its first residential Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Expanding beyond the automotive sector, Ola SHAKTI marks a transformative step in how Indians access, control, and consume energy, offering a portable, on-demand solution designed for households, farms, and businesses. With this launch, Ola expects its annual BESS consumption to scale up to 5 GWh in the coming years.
The launch represents the first phase of Ola Electric’s vision for India’s energy storage market, spanning residential to grid-scale applications, all anchored by the 4680 Bharat Cell technology platform and produced at the Ola Gigafactory.

Ola SHAKTI is the first fully indigenous residential BESS in India, designed, engineered, and manufactured using advanced 4680 Bharat Cells derived from automotive-grade battery packs. Its modular design allows multi-directional stacking and easy scalability, while its compact form ensures simple home installation and maintenance.
