New Delhi, Nov 19: Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading authority in project management, has announced results from its Fourteenth Edition Earning Power, Project Management Salary Survey, highlighting the career advantages that Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification brings to professionals in India. The comprehensive report, based on self-reported data from 577 project management practitioners across the country, paints a compelling picture of the certification’s promising value.
The survey data indicate a clear salary premium for PMP-certified professionals in India. While the overall median salary for all respondents stood at $29,609, non-certified professionals reported a median of $22,894. In contrast, PMP-certified individuals commanded a median salary of $30,525, representing a remarkable 33.3% higher compensation than their non-certified counterparts. This robust difference highlights the immediate and tangible return on investment that the PMP certification offers across industries.
Beyond immediate gains, the analysis demonstrates a strong correlation between the duration of PMP certification and sustained career growth. Professionals with less than five years of PMP certification reported a median salary of $27,003. This figure climbed to $38,215 for those certified between five and ten years (a 41.5% increase), and further to an impressive $46,961 for those holding the certification for over ten years – marking a substantial 73.8% increase from entry-level certified professionals. This trend firmly establishes PMP certification as a strategic, long-term career investment.
