Moscow, Nov 20: A formal ceremony marking the induction of new members into AI Alliance Network took place at AI Journey 2025. AI Alliance Network brings together academic centers, trade associations, and technology groups committed to advancing AI with transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
This year, 11 new associations and research institutions from 11 countries spanning Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia became members of the Alliance. As a result, the Alliance now comprises 28 organizations from 21 countries worldwide.
Alexander Vedyakhin, chairman of the Supervisory Board, AI Alliance:
“The influx of new members underscores that the agenda of responsible and open AI development attracts nations with diverse economies, cultures, and technological landscapes. Today, we witness the birth of a genuinely global professional community united in addressing challenges and delivering solutions that serve humanity. This is a clear indicator that AI is becoming a tool for partnership rather than rivalry”.
AI Alliance Network sets ambitious goals for its members. Russia assumes a leading role: in 2025, the Russian AI Alliance chairs the secretariat of AI Alliance Network. Standing at the forefront, Russia initiated AI Horizons, a global foresight study identifying promising trends and research topics in AI likely to exert maximum medium- and long-term impact. So far, over 270 scholars from 36 countries have participated in the project.
Particular focus will be given to foundational aspects of AGI, predicting its emergence, tracking the trajectory of AI agents’ evolution, and discussing the explainability and security of AI technologies. A separate segment devoted to socioeconomic and cultural ramifications of AI deployment highlights the interaction between AI and human society. The findings will be unveiled at the international AI Journey conference.
Moreover, AI Alliance Network undertakes collaborative educational initiatives to train talent needed for leveraging AI technologies across member states. Members exchange regulatory experience and actively participate in UN forums to promote a favorable regulatory ecosystem and establish universal ethical frameworks grounded in a human-centered approach to AI governance.
Founded in 2024 under the patronage of Russian President Vladimir Putin, AI Alliance originally comprised 17 industry associations from 14 countries. Its primary objective is to foster open dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and consensus-building on responsible AI utilization.
Alliance members represent various sectors, including industrial production, education, scientific research, healthcare, and public administration. Cooperation spans fields such as AI ethics, educational standards, quality assessment of AI models, and technology transfer.
