Volkswagen India has marked another key milestone with the commencement of local assembly for the Tayron R-Line in India. Production has started at the company’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility, aligning with the brand’s planned Q1 2026 launch.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Piyush Arora, MD & CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said:
“The start of production for another world-class model—the Tayron R-Line—at our Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility represents a strategic step forward for Volkswagen India’s SUV portfolio. We aim to deliver a distinctive choice for premium SUV customers while reinforcing our operational strength and readiness to meet the evolving expectations of the Indian automotive market.”

The Tayron R-Line, Volkswagen India’s most premium SUV, offers true 7-seater space, everyday practicality, and sporty R-Line design with refined appeal. With production now underway, the brand is poised to accelerate its presence in the premium SUV segment, with the official launch scheduled in Q1 2026.
