Chula and UNESCO Empower Youth to Shape Education Beyond 2030

Chulalongkorn University, through the Faculty of Arts, co-hosted the “Youth Dialogue to Shape the Future of Education and Learning Beyond 2030” conference in collaboration with UNESCO on May 16, 2026, at Room 105, Maha Chulalongkorn Building.  

The event concluded with closing remarks by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University. Distinguished participants included Mr. Khaled El-Enany, Director-General of UNESCO, and Associate Prof. Suradech Chotiudompant, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University.  

The conference brought together more than 100 students, youth representatives, educators, and stakeholders from various countries, professions, and disciplines to discuss the future of education and the role of young people in shaping inclusive, resilient, and sustainable education systems beyond 2030. The event reflected a shared commitment to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which aims to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all. 

Participants emphasized that universities today serve not only as institutions of higher learning but also as vital spaces for critical thinking, intercultural exchange, and collaborative action in addressing global challenges. Discussions focused on key issues shaping the future of education, including equitable access, sustainability, mental well-being, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and youth participation in educational policymaking. 

In his closing remarks, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration and youth engagement to drive meaningful educational development and contribute to a more equitable, inclusive, and future-oriented global education agenda. 

The event also further strengthened the long-standing partnership between Chulalongkorn University and UNESCO, reflecting their shared commitment to promoting global citizenship, intercultural learning, and sustainable educational futures for the next generation.
